new year//crafternoon

happy new year! today i didn't have work, and school's not back yet, so what do i do??? blow my hobby lobby giftcard, of course!

at amanda's wedding, i caught the bouquet! (i'm next? ha!) i actually also helped to make the bouquet, which was made out of silk flowers. i don't really have any use for the bouquet, and so i decided to make one of those flower crowns that everybody and their mother has been wearing.

i took apart the bouquet and all i needed after that was some floral wire and floral tape

i took the wire and twisted them together until i had a circle. i twisted 2-3 pieces of wire together all the way around so the headband would be sturdy enough to hold flowers.

after creating the headband, i selected my flowers and trimmed them down to about three inch stems.

i then took the flowers, laid them beside the headband where i wanted them, and then securely attached the flowers with wire. i kept arranging the flowers and attaching them individually until i had all of the flowers i wanted on the headband.

after i attached all the flowers, i wrapped the entire headband with floral tape to further secure the flowers, and to cover up and poky wire ends (i definitely recommend using floral wire instead of regular wire because it is way less sharp).

and then you have a flower hippie headband that you're never going to wear anywhere!
