i hope you all had great weeks, i had a great week! we didn't really have anymore lessons than usual, but it's all about positive attitudes and heavenly father was really blessing us with a positive outlook!
we had another zone training on this past friday to talk about the new easter video the church released on sunday. EVERYONE WATCH IT! it is so beautiful! i just watched it three times in a row! watch it and then share it with your friends! you can find it on followhim.mormon.org it's really easy to share it with your friends, you can share it on facebook and it's super simple!
i love this easter time. i know that Jesus Christ lives and that because of His Atonement and Resurrection, we CAN find new life and we can have joy and comfort and peace and can change our lives to become more like Him. He knows how to love us perfectly and how to help us perfectly. I love Alma 7:10-13, and share it often with people we meet. the Atonement is not just for our sins, but also for comfort in our trials and strength in our weaknesses. isn't that the most wonderful thing?!!? our Heavenly Father loves us SO much so He sent His Son, Jesus Christ. He lives!
this week we worked a lot with the members in our ward. i am often overwhelmed by their kindness in always feeding us and looking after us to make sure we know when there is a time change or to watch the weather, among other things. there is a sister in our ward named sister savard who is from the Philippines. she speaks english, so we often take her when we visit people who only speak english. she's the tiniest cutest lady. she just talks and talks and talks. saturday night we took her with us to a lesson, and she first off told us she can be out as late as we need her because she was tired and needed a break (she has 2 little girls) and kept reminding us of that throughout the night. she then started telling us all about how she skypes with a friend who is also from the phillipines and what they talk about. she says, i just talk about what i cooked and then say, "hey! look at my sprouts!" sister savard (and lots of other people here in quebec) grow their own bean sprouts. it's really cool! you can really sprout anything; lentils, mung beans, quinoa, almonds, etc. you soak them in water overnight, then put them in a jar. you rinse 2x a day and keep out of the sun, and sure enough in a few days you have some sprouts! and they're really healthy. she told us all about the bean sprouts and then took us inside her house to watch a video on how to do it and then equipped us with a bunch of our own beans to sprout and jars and limes to eat them with. she told us, "no guts, no glory!" and sent us on our way. oh man. quebec is full of crazy old grandmas and people like sister savard. it's great! these are my kind of people! and now sister clark and i have our own bean sprouts and i love them! they are my babies!!!
we have been doing a lot of finding lately and it always surprises me what people will answer the door in. we have people shirtless, pants less, in lingerie, you name it!
we also have been having quite a farting problem in our lessons. sister clark and i don't have a farting problem, but our investigators do. literally 3 times this week, our investigators have farted during lessons, and it's really funny because they get kind of embarrassed so when sister clark and i try to ignore it and be polite about it, they start giggling and then proceed to tell us that they ate a lot of vegetables that evening and that's why they farted (true story). hahaha sorry mom you can take that part out of this email if you want hahahahahahahahaha
well it's warming up! who would have thought 0 degrees would feel like summer?!
hope you all have great weeks, and watch the easter video! it's called Hallelujah.
love,
soeur paine
