WHERE I LIVE

where do i live in france?

paris
line three
seventeenth

there's a man who lives in the basement of an apartment on the street that i use to walk home who is always playing music, jazz music.

there are pigeons sucking water from the puddles on the street, and you can hear the satisfying slurp, slurp, slurp.

children on scooters followed by tired mothers and nannies. nightly store owners turned window washers by day. high schools and colleges flood the sidewalks with students.

the bakery on the corner has the best baguette in the city.

i live on a street they call spring, and everything i know lies here, on this one street in paris.
