this week was same old same old, just visiting some peoples, preaching some word, and having a party.
we visited a lady in our ward and shared a message about missionary work, and at the end she was really motivated and said, "yeah, we need to share the gospel and invite everyone to the party because we want a big party!"and then i found 20 dollars.
not really i just thought that would be a good way to end the story.
but this week we had zone conference to meet our new mission president! his name is president phillips and he is from idaho so he knows a little somethin about cold and snow and stuff. i am so grateful for him. we had interviews and he is the mission president that Heavenly Father knew i needed! president phillips is inspired and knows what i need to fulfill my potential as a missionary. and i've only met him one time! we had a great discussion and i am really excited for the mission and the miracles that are waiting to happen as long as we do our part. we were also able to meet his wife and some of their children and they were so nice. i am so glad to have another year with them.
besides meeting our president this week we had an insane thunderstorm and hail and it was real nice because it cooled everything off for a few days.
two great miracles this week- the first is that our miss mavis who was baptized just over a year ago went to the temple to receive her endowment. i will never forget when i had my interview with my stake president for my mission papers and he sat me down and said that i will be going on a mission to baptize people, yes, but what i really need to do is help them get to the temple. now i'm not taking any credit for mavis getting to the temple because i'm pretty sure that i get more from our visits with her than she does from me, but seeing her literally glowing the next day at church was the best thing! she did it! there is a conference talk from this past general conference that says something along the lines that we haven't taken full advantage of what the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has to offer until we have gone through the temple. and i love the temple, i know it's the house of God, and mavis did it! she now can move forward and learn even more and she is so so so happy and that makes me so so so happy! man, it's the best.
and our other miracle is dianne. she is truly golden. everything we teach her she just soaks up like a sponge and she loves it and believes it. she told us yesterday that she read the book of mormon all week and that she and her son are coming to church next sunday. we taught her about the plan of salvation and she told us she understands it and she loves it and knows she can see her mom again one day. she even told us that she wanted to tell her friend about it! and then she made us some jamaican food so that was a nice added bonus. :)
i love you all and hope you have a great week! transfer calls are this saturday!
love,
