C'EST PAS GRAVE

HULLO EVERYONE,

how are you? this week we were busy busy busy and i can't even tell you how many people we are visiting tomorrow (7 i think? and 3 of those are meal appointments, 1 lunch and 2 dinner) because sister dexter is going home on thursday. i'm killing my companion! apparently that's what you call it on the mission, they "die" when they go home.

we had an amazing miracle this week when our investigator, Dianne, and her son came to church on sunday! she is progressing so well, we just run into some difficulty because we can only see her on sundays because of her job. poop. but she is continually progressing and loves everything she learns.

we are also making really great progress with our investigator, Eleanor. she was taught by the elders years ago and LOVED them. she was picked up again by the sisters right before i came into fallowfield, but wasn't really progressing. she seemed to be more interested in our company (she is 70 and lives by herself) than our message. she is a born again christian, and the last lesson we had with her she finally told us what that meant to her that she was "born again" and it was actually a really spiritual experience. she is finally getting to understand the importance of the book of mormon. i have great hopes for her!

oh i almost forgot to tell you the news! transfer calls were this saturday and because our phone was messing up (the zone leaders tried to call us 3 times, and every time we would answer, the phone would hang up!) we were the very last people to know our calls. talk about stress! haha but sister dexter is being transferred to tahiti, and she has to find her own companion. i am getting a new companion...whose name i have forgotten... and no one knows anything about her.... but i do know she is newer on the mission than i am. i have been praying for her and i know she will be great!

other news is that our ward had us and then a set of elders because it is a HUGE area, but the elders' area is being closed this transfer, so my new companion and i will be taking over the whole ward. we have a ton of work to do! but i know if Heavenly Father has trusted us with Fallowfield ward, He will provide a way for us to visit everyone we need to visit and make sure no one gets left behind, we just need to remember to always turn to Him.

i often think of Alma 26:11-12, "But Ammon [who is one of the greatest examples of a missionary ever] said unto him: I do not boast in my own strength, nor in my own wisdom; but behold, my joy is full, yea, my heart is brim with joy, and I will rejoice in my God. Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yeah, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever."

i know that missionary work is His work, and so not only do I need to work as hard as i can to be a worthy, obedient missionary, but He guides us to do what He needs done wherever He sends us and and whatever work He has us do. I love my Heavenly Father and I know all things we have come from Him.

i love you all and hope you have a great week!

love,

Sister Paine

2-4 the bukasa family. they are from congo and feed us all sorts of african food (fufu). it's awesome! they also speak french so we have a great time. martine is 2 and she's especially a firecracker. she will do things she isn't supposed to do and afterwards she will just grin at you and say, "c'est pas grave" or, "it's okay" it's soo funny.
