THERE`S A WORM IN MY FOOD!

hello family!

this week was great! the ward/area are pretty tough, but we are working as hard as we can to turn things around! we had some miracles and great things happen!

this week i am grateful for a family in our ward, the Allard family. two of the daughters, fanny and josianne, just got back from missions 2 or 3 months ago and are so sweet! they are always willing to help us out! and their dad has an fhe at his house every week and invites less-active members and members who are alone. he cooks dinner and the missionaries share a message. it`s awesome and he is an awesome cook (there`s always at least 4 courses)! i`m just so grateful for that family! on tuesday we had fanny with us to go to a lesson with a hopefully new investigator. we were so excited, the girl seemed so interested. well we got to her apartment, she buzzed us in, but when we knocked and knocked she didn`t answer! ugh! so we decided to go try and pass by a couple of members in our ward that were inactive because we have been trying to get to know them. we tried 2 with no success and we had 1 left in the area. fanny knew the member and said he`s pretty grumpy, but we knew we needed to try anyway. as we got out of the car to go to his apartment building, there was a lady sitting on her stoop. we started talking to her and she ended up being a miracle contact! she told us she would love to hear our message! so even though our lessons fell through, when we kept going we were able to see miracles!

i am grateful for the AMAZING lesson we had with our returning less active member. she is awesome! but she can feel the opposition all around her because she is trying to do the right thing. we shared with her the talk from last conference by elder oaks called "opposition in all things" it is an incredible talk and it was an incredible lesson! afterwards, the elders gave her a blessing which was such a powerful and spiritual experience for her. i am so grateful for the priesthood! and for general conference!

speaking of general conference, women`s conference on saturday was AMAZING. the spirit was so strong. i loved every single talk. i loved the emphasis on charity, as i`ve mentioned before, that`s something that i really think about often because unfortunately there is a huge lack of love here in canada, it`s especially hard in quebec. i know being sent here that is something i need to work on developing. i also especially loved sister stephen`s talk. she said it so simply, lay your burdens at the feet of our Savior because He can change our hearts. so moral of the story is that everyone should watch conference please.

funny things/traumatic things this week:
as i was eating dinner on friday, I FOUND A WORM/GRUB ON MY PLATE. we had salad with fresh garden veggies from a members garden and i THOUGHT i had washed everything well, but apparently not.

i am also grateful for a new little friend i have in our ward. a family just moved in and they were sitting in front of us in sacrament meeting. the little girl in front of me, and she kept turning around and smiling at me, and at one point she even drew a picture of me! haha. and then after sacrement meeting i was talking to her and told her that we were going to be in primary that day to give a talk, and she pumped her fist just like napolean dynamite did when he said, "yessssssss". little kids are the best!

i love you all! i hope you have great weeks!

love,

soeur paine
