A LLAMA HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD

Hola tout le monde

things are going well here in ottawa, i've been learning about the area and meeting all the people so it's been good.

this week we were super busy every day but i wouldn't have it any other way! there is a lot of work here to do in fallowfield

monday was pday and nothing really exciting we were soooo tired so we took a nice long nap haha

tuesday we visited some less active people in our ward and were able to meet an awesome family that just moved in! everyone has been so nice and welcoming to us. we also had zone training, which was the last one we had with president patrick before he finishes his mission. i'm so grateful for inspired leaders who teach clearly, simply and to the point. i will miss having him as my mission president!

wednesday we had a little miracle with a less active member who had been very hard to get in contact with. we had been calling her because she lives very far in our area and we only have a certain amount of clicks we can use every month. we hadn't been able to get in touch with her, so we just decided to go to her house. not only does she live right by the river so it was beautiful and nice weather to walk in, but she was home! and let us in!

thursday we had more appointments and one of them was with a less active who has been returning to church who had big news for us! we had been talking with about the temple with her last week and she was nervous because she didn't know if had a strong enough testimony to go to the temple even though she really wanted to. thursday she told us she had met with the bishop and had the first part of her temple recommend! she is one step closer to going through to get her own endowment. it's amazing how the Lord has blessed me to have so much love for these people i just met. her joy became my joy and i'm so grateful to my Heavenly Father to be able to feel that.

friday was more appointments, but saturday we had a HUGE miracle. earlier in the week we had called some former investigators to see if we could meet with them. we left a message for a lady named joclyne. she called us back and was like, "i would love for you to come over and i will feed you!" uh okay! we went over to her house saturday afternoon and she had cooked us delicious Haitian food (she's from haiti) and told us about her life. she has had many trials, but she is willing and open to hear our message. the funny thing was, when we started sharing the message we asked her if she remembers meeting with the missionaries before and she told us she had never seen any missionaries before and had no idea who we were, but she invited us over anyway! we were able to share the book of mormon and she asked us to come back!

and of course this weekend was great because i got to facetime my family!

i love this mission i'm serving. it's hard and not always easy, but i know it's worth it!

i love you all! have a great week!

love,
sister paine
