GOODBYE FALLOWFIELD

Dear everyone,

well first big news is that i am getting transferred again :( :( :(

but there's good news that goes along with it. i'll be transferred to a place called gatineau which is
1. still in ottawa stake/zone so i will see all my fallowfield people at stake functions and also my best friend sister dampt
2. i'll speak french!
3. i already know my new companion, sister fleming because i have been on a split with her because she was the stl this past transfer too. (big relief!)

oh and i'll also be a sister training leader in gatineau, meaning i will be going on splits and helping the sisters in our stake/zone. honestly, i am a little overwhelmed with the idea of being a STL because i'm still pretty young in the mission and feel like i don't know a lot, but i know the Lord will help me.

it's been a week of miracles. our investigator, Myrium, accepted a baptismal date! she actually asked for it as we were talking about baptism during our gospel of Jesus Christ lesson!!!! i'm so happy for her.

we also went to visit a less active who we had never met before and one of the first things he asked was for us to teach his son because he wants to be baptized!!!

also a huge other miracle was that we had a corn boil on saturday (corn is a big deal here) (a corn boil is basically a bbq with corn) and we had 5 investigators come!

there were so many little tender mercies this week in fallowfield. i learned so much here about charity. i have found vital charity is in my calling as a missionary and life in general. truly the pure love of Christ motivates everything. i think i've shared part of this talk before, but it is a favorite. it's called "the first great commandment" by elder holland.

the end of his talk resonates with me, "to all within the sound of my voice, the voice of Christ comes ringing down through the halls of time, asking each one of us while there is time, 'Do you love me?' And for every one of us, I answer with my honor and soul, 'Yea, Lord, we do love thee.' And having set our 'hand to the plough,' we will never look back until this work is finished and love of God and neighbor rules the world."

i know that having more charity is something i need to work on. i want to be able to answer the Lord when He asks, just like He asked Peter, "Do you love me?" that yes, i did love you! and because i loved Him i did everything i could to be like Him and to help those around me feel of that love. but i also know that when we love God and Jesus Christ, they bless our capacities to help, serve, teach, and learn SO MUCH.

i love you all!

love,

sister paine
